NEW HOME SESSION - NO HOSPITALS

Filmed by Matthew Aldus / Sound by James Scott

No Hospitals

I’m waiting to hear you breathing

To see you calm

To see you lie, for a while

-

I’m waiting to hear you speaking

To hear you say

That I’m alright, for a while

Show Me Land

Sunday morning

With our bare and bony branches, curling

The hails thrown, the beams thin

The soffit shakes, our window’s blurring

-

And keep your arms tucked in

Keep me talking, keep the branch creaking

From the harbour swing, you can barely see the boat sinking

And all my friends are in love

-

Autumns forming

Frail unfastened fingers furling

You told me, he’s violent

Voices keep the floorboards humming

-

You run your fingers through the leaves, show me land

You keep me feeling like I’m weak, wrap me round

You run your fingers through the leaves, show me land

You kept me feeling I was weak

Womb

Allow our patient runs we held forehanded

Allure fell foxes on the lawn

When follow figures found our small, surrounded

By noon, came under the forlorn

And they look so sure

Their tilted heads, sombre and calm

It’s all white washed walls and borrowed clothes in uniform

Don’t wake your father up, he’s carved his sleep

It’s not mechanical

And don’t try tell me to go slowly

-

Where you leapt out from a stone

Turning black white

What could run from you?

And there’s another like the moon, hanging over

Swelled and split to bloom

-

And I can feel you kicking in the womb

And the sadness with me knows no time of day

I can feel you kicking in the womb

But you stir beyond the reach that I can bend

Furrows

It’s in my belly it’s in my bones

It’s not my corner, not my cove

But with fain, you calm, you wove

It’s in my belly it’s in my bones

Though, I won’t see home till spring

I found my footing, I caw, I’ve sewn

Was sapped all sullen, won’t let love grow

Though with pace you sore, you rose

Alar our branches, unbend our bows

Nor find faucet, nor to flee

And I can hardly hold my seem shut to the sound of lurid sea

Comfort in the furrows, warn into the soil, thawing under autumn trees

-

Came loose from doubts recurring culls

With fern and copper woven groves, all remove and bare to load

And I held you nude in our rapt fold

Just to sleep with home to hold
